Improving school campuses…
-

Facilities
We build, repair, and update school facilities such as kitchens, water tanks, classrooms, latrines, and offices.
-
Classroom Materials
We provide manipulatives for early childhood learning, materials for teaching English, science, and math at all levels, and sewing machines/fabric for vocational training in tailoring.
-

Professional development
Faculty, staff, and high school graduates seeking professional development, teacher training, or degrees in education (up to the bachelor’s level) can apply for financial grants.
-
Sports
We promote athletic programs by building basketball/volleyball courts, and equipping volleyball, soccer, basketball, sitball teams. We support school coaches and in some cases pay their salaries at schools with no sports budgets. We also help build physical education programs, which are rare in rural schools. We are introducing even pickleball and badminton to some day schools.
-

The Arts
We help students develop music and dance skills, which promote cooperation, teamwork, and social-emotional learning. Arts education in all forms stimulates multiple areas of the brain, increases memory capacity and concentration, and improves academic skills in math, science, and especially reading. Good arts programs also increase school spirit and pride, which can motivate students to attend school more consistently. And for all ages, the arts are an invaluable means of joyful self-expression.

School and Lunch Fees
Each year we enable hundreds of students to pay the school fees that keep them in school. These fees cover the cost of uniforms, paper/pens/pencils, exam registrations, and some textbooks not issued by the government. Lunch fees range from $2.50/month for the youngest students, to $10-$16/term for middle and high school students.

Livestock (but please don't eat the daisies!)
We help schools buy chickens, pigs, goats, rabbits, and cows, which they breed to support school lunch programs.
